President ‘s Message
Dear Patrons and Members
BMUS ( Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh) has been working towards the upliftment of women entrepreneurs since 1995 and will continue to do so.
Women entrepreneurship development is an essential part of human resource development. The Indian Economy started to see drastic changes since 1991, with new economic policies initiated by the Government of India, focussing on Economic Liberalization, Globalization and Privatization. Though in all these years BMUS has directly supported more than 10,000 women towards achieving their entrepreneurship goals by giving them training and market place in collaborations with the government institutions and holding exhibitions. We still see that the entrepreneurial ability of women has not been tapped properly. Lot has to be done to bring out the entrepreneur in a woman.
As APJ Abdul Kalam said “ Empowering women is a prerequisite for creating a good nation, when women are empowered, society with stability is assured. Empowerment of women is essential as their thoughts and their value systems lead to the development of a good family, good society and ultimately a good nation.”
Women entrepreneurship needs to be moulded properly with entrepreneurial traits and skills to meet the changes in trends, challenges in global markets and also be competent enough to sustain and strive for excellence in the entrepreneurial arena.
In Bihar, several women are associated with BMUS directly as members or indirectly as beneficiaries during various programmes. With the help of our modern tools and techniques we are now creating a more robust structure of BMUS, with member leaders at different levels from all the districts to Blocks and Panchayats of Bihar. With the help of new digital platforms members will be able to register with organization from any place and any time and avail the various hi-tech services of the sangh.
We are committed towards the value edition in the women entrepreneurs work. We are working with women at different levels like -
- Women in organized & unorganized sector
- Women in traditional & modern industries
- women in urban & rural areas
- Women in large scale and small scale industries
- Single women (proprietor) & joint ventures.
It's our pleasure that we have been regularly supported by the Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise ( MSME), Govt. of India , Patna. Institute has always updated us about various schemes and women have been given training and assistance in their endeavours.
We are especially thankful to the Industry Ministry and Department, Govt. of India for giving us financial support and encouragement from time to time.
WE express our gratitude towards the Government of Bihar for constantly supporting and recognizing us, which has enabled BMUS in creating a trusted name in the society.
